The RichEdit Addin for Keyman Desktop provides Unicode editing support for legacy applications. Some older applications do not allow Unicode characters to be input, but do allow Unicode data to be saved. The RichEdit addin enables Unicode input in places where 'rich text' editors (like WordPad) are used in these applications.

Most modern applications will not use this functionality but it is not harmful to leave the addin enabled.
